I have been attending Eric Lofholm’s events/seminars, etc. for the past two and half years. I am light years ahead of where I was when I got started learning sales from him.

After being a financial advisor for only 18 months, because of the processional effect of the information that Eric shared, I reached the Circle of Champions level in my company---and I only worked part time!

Before going to his seminars, I had no idea how to set and achieve goals. Now, not only do I know how, but my 12 year old son is setting and achieving goals regularly as well.

When I went to a Sales Mastery seminar in February of 2005, I gave myself a rating in the areas of referrals, sales scripting, handling objections, closing, networking, prospecting, marketing, and goal setting. At that time, on a scale of 1-10, the highest ‘grade’ that I gave myself in those areas was a 3. Recently, I gave myself a rating in those areas and I had only one grade that was a 5, but my overall average was a 7-8. I call that measurable progress!

That year was also the year that I got my first ‘million dollar client’. A young woman whose husband had passed away unexpectedly needed someone to help her with her financial decisions. She had two young children, a dream home that she and her husband had built together over the past 3 years, and she didn’t want to have to sell her home full of their memories together or go back work while her children were young.

We were able to put together a financial plan for her that enabled her to stay in her home that they had shared together, to not have to go back to work, and to be home with her children. In fact, at the beginning of this year, she was able to put in a beautiful back yard pool worthy of Sunset magazine, which had been a far-off hope that she and her husband had.

The thing that I love most about that story is that, here was a person in need, in the most difficult time of her life, and I got to help make a difference for her and for her children. They got to stay in their home and have their mom at home with them.

One of the ideas that Eric shares is that the focus of our businesses and our lives is to add value. It was a watershed moment for me when I heard Eric share this. It was as though someone who had been highly successful in business was saying, “Yes, I give you permission to do business this way; this is how to do business.”

I had wanted to focus on that in my business, and it was great to hear this from someone who is a top producer in sales. He teaches that we sell from honesty, compassion and integrity and, as a result, this affects our businesses in an extremely positive way. He calls it ‘win-win’. I know that, as a result of the things that I have learned over the past 2 ½ years with Eric Lofholm, I can call my business ‘win-win’ too.

It all started when I was 10, two years ago. I was going to a school that was about 20 minutes away from my house. On the way home, my mom would listen to Eric Lofholm cd’s. She had all of them so every day we would listen to them on the way home.

I can admit that I told the tape to be quiet a couple of times (actually, I said, “Shut up,” but my mom said that isn’t nice to say), but it turned out that I liked it after a while, especially since this guy on the cd had the same name as me.

I remember hearing the story of how Eric Lofholm was a McDonald’s employee and things weren’t going his way. But he didn’t give up. He set a goal, had a strategy, and he put it into action by quitting his job at McDonald’s, rushed to see his girlfriend and proposed to her. She said, “Yes.”

So, on the way home from school one hot day, we stopped at 7-Eleven and got a Slurpee, and my mom showed me the ad from Comp USA. They were going to sell the PS2 game, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith for $30. It had only sold for $50 until then. Keep in mind that this was Wednesday and the sale was only from 5:00pm-10:00pm on that Friday.

In the car, I started thinking up ways to get the video game. First, of course, like any kid, I asked my mom to buy it for me. I never understood why my parents didn’t just buy me things that I wanted like some of my friends’ parents did. My parents must be defective.

Well, then I had to think up ways to earn money. First, I asked my mom if I could have my allowance a day early. I earned $3 a week and got it on Saturday if my room was clean. I also asked her if I saved up $25 by Friday afternoon if she could front me the money for the rest.

My mom said that both cars needed to be washed and the lawn needed to be mowed. She said that she had plenty of chores if I wanted to earn money. When I got home, I immediately went out and washed the car. When I came back in, I was discouraged and said, “I don’t know how I’m going to earn $30 by Friday. What was I thinking?”

My mom said to me, “Wait son, listen. There’s something called, ‘Goal-strategy-action.’ You had a goal. What was your goal?” I said, “To get the Star Wars game.” She said, “Okay, what is your strategy?” I said, “To do a bunch of work and earn the money.” Then she said, “Okay, now you just need to go and take massive action to achieve your goal. I will help you think of more things to do to earn the money, but you need to just keep doing the things that you already know to do.”

She told me that I could go and ask the neighbors if they wanted their lawn mowed. Well, I tried that, but it didn’t work so I just continued on with the plan I made originally.

Well, I got out and mowed and edged our front and back yards. After that, I mopped the kitchen floor, which I hadn’t done before. Actually, it was kind of fun. I turned up some music and danced while I mopped the floor.

I decided that I could wash the dog the next day when I got home from school, because it was a half day and it would cool us both off in the middle of the day. Also, I decided not to have a friend over that Thursday afternoon like I usually did, because I wanted to be able to do chores to earn the money for the game.

That night, I wrote down the chores that I was going to do in a notebook so that I could keep track of which chores I still needed to do and how much I had earned. I put boxes next to the chores and checked the boxes when I was done with each thing. I got up early on Thursday morning to clean my room before school so that I wouldn’t have to when I got home.

Well, I wanted to earn all of the money by Thursday night, so that I wouldn’t have to come home on Friday afternoon and do chores before going to the store, because it was on the way home from school. I accomplished my goal. I earned all of it by Thursday night.

The next strategy was getting to the store before all of the games were sold out. I thought maybe the store would be packed at 5 o’clock with people wanting to buy the game. My mom and I thought of a plan to go on some errands right after school so that we would show up at Comp USA right before 5.

On Friday, I kept her on track all afternoon so that we would be sure to be there right on time. Well, we got there at 4:50 and went into the store. There weren’t mobs of people like I thought there would be.

I went up to a store clerk and asked for the Star Wars PS2 games that were on sale and he went back and got one out of a case for me. They still had lots of them. He said that I just needed to wait until 5 pm to buy it to get the sale price.
We did, and then I walked out of the store happy as a clam.

Later, my mom told Eric the story of me using goal-strategy-action and earning the money in 2 days to buy the video game. He had me speak for the first time at a conference in Costa Mesa and I got $5. That was the beginning of my speaking career and becoming friends with Eric Lofholm.

Brief Background
I first listened to one of your conference calls on April 6, 2005--then signed up for the Protégé Program.

My husband listened to your Goal Setting process. He was impressed with the value of writing goals--specific goals and for the first time actually wrote down his income goal.

My husband is a professional pilot---never had a raise in 8 years—
Prior to listening to your goal series, my husband had done several salary surveys and concluded that he was earning in the bottom 10 % of pilots with the same skills

When he listened to your series, he wrote down his goal--to double his salary (from $45,000 per year to $90,000 per year). Once the goal was in place, he proceeded to write a proposal letter to his boss and gave that to him in the next week. When he gave him the letter, his boss agreed--yes, we need to do something about that. Then--time passed--no discussion--apparently this was forgotten. About 4 months passed. Tim is still reviewing his goals; determining when he can bring this up.

The catalyst occurred last week. On Monday (Aug 22, 2005) another pilot services company offered Tim a job--salary would be significantly more and they needed an answer in 48 hours. Tuesday Tim discussed this with the CEO of the company and gave him a copy of his proposal--was not encouraged; the CEO did not expect the owner to be favorable towards a raise. Wednesday Tim talked with the owner of the company and gave him a couple of options: $101,000 per year or $76,000 per year--with option for Tim to moonlight also. His boss agreed to the $101,000 per year.

In march of 2006 I met Eric Lofholm for the first time at the close seminar. Since I had been in sales for many years it was not the first training that I had been to, I was hoping to make a change in my business but was not optimistic. After this event I immediately was able to apply the principles that I learned and I began to make a shift in my sales career.

Let me back up a moment and share that I had hoped to have success but it seemed out of my grasp. Almost everyone that I knew said they felt I should be successful but success had seemed to allude me.

Within 7 days of attending the close I had an interview and was told I was the best candidate they had ever interviewed. I knew then that the shift I was looking for had begun as I had began to apply what I learned from Eric at the close seminar.

The one thing that I noticed that was different from Eric is his ability to connect with people and bring out their gifts. At the Close seminar I heard the success of his students and how they went from barely making it to blowing past the goals they had set for themselves. This is what I really wanted and needed but my belief that it could happen to me was low.

In the following days I began to ponder Eric’s offer of entering into a mentoring relationship with him. The program I was thinking of was the platinum protégé program. He had a great lifelong training program called the protégé program but my concern was I didn’t want to purchase a system that I may or may not use. In Platinum Protégé I was going to be held accountable to my goals. I knew the program worked, but the subconscious fear was, “ would I fail in a proven system.” Or my self talk said to myself “ will you be the factor that keeps yourself in failure.” Not only was I fearful of self sabotage but money was a major issue.

Dr. Donald Moine says that “ sales is the hardest low paying job, and sales is the easiest high paying job. My income was very low and with my mortgages I actually had more going out than I had coming in. There was no way I could afford to pay for this program. But here is what I did, rather than keep myself where I was I made a phone call to Eric. I explained my financial situation and I told him my story of what I couldn’t afford. Eric shared he could clearly understand my situation but he said this is what I have learned. “ When you are in a stressful financial situation focus on money making activities, not on your money problems. You get what you focus on!”

So I took a leap of faith and entered the Platinum Protégé Program. As a member of this program I had access to the protégé program as well. So I was able to access this content anywhere I chose by bringing it on my IPOD. But here is what happened. Within 60 days of making the decision. I was able to double my income, not once but consistently every month.

What happened next is even more exciting, I double my income again and have made that my new baseline. My current goal to achieve this year is to get my income to 10 times what it was before I joined the platinum protégé. It looks as if I am on my way to fultill that goal.

The other thing that has dramatically changed is my belief and confidence in my abilities. I now know I will always perform at this level or higher. I have dramatically increased the results that I have dealing with clients and prospects. When I pick up the phone it is light and I can’t wait to have a powerful conversation. My abilities to lead and train others have been transformed. I have been acknowledged by professional sales people and have had two articles written about my sales results.

So if you were to ask me what you ought to do, the question you should ask yourself is not how much it costs to be in the program, but how much it is costing each and every month to not get the training and the accountability you need. If you are fed up with how things are in your life right now then take action to bring yourself to where you always have wanted to be.

A few weeks ago you had a Protégé call on Objection Handling- a very interesting call and some of your responses really made me laugh so I decided to try them. While I am sure you didn’t mean to use ALL of them in the same meeting, I figured, what the heck!

As you know I am a Wedding Photographer and my usual presentation ends with a very weak close where I ask which package best suits their needs then I let them leave the table to discuss it and hopefully call me back in a few days, or as it turns out, when ever they get around to it- not too bright.

The week following your call I had three appointments. I’m new in a small town and had nothing to loose (what, 3 in 34,224?), so when we came to the close I asked for their business. It went something like this:

Q- “Are you ready to move forward?”
Groom- “That’s a lot of money.”
Q-“Compared to what?”
Groom- “We really don’t have that kind of money?”
Q- “Why not?”
Bride- “I’m not working and he just got a new position as a Park Ranger.”
Q- “Who do you know that has the money? Perhaps they would like to invest in you.”
Groom- “Well, we were going to ask my mom but she is disabled and on a limited budget.”
Q- “You mentioned you have an interest in sports, what do you have that you could sell?”
Groom- “Oh, I already sold the Baseball cards, to buy the ring”.
Q- “Who do you know that loves you? “(while looking at the bride)
Q- “WHAT ABOUT YOUR MOM?”
Groom- (looks at his fiancé)- How about your grandma?

I then did something I have seen used a million times but never put into practice until now- I gave them a 10% discount if they made the commitment by 5PM on the third day (and I wrote the date and time on the contract- then initialized it!).

Amazing, on the second day they were leaving frantic calls as they had found the money and wanted to get the discount. Mind you, these weddings were all between $3500-$5800 each and for dates 12-18 months out.

A Person of Action

Imagine depleting your savings, maxing out your credit cards and not being able to refinance your home because of the declining real estate market. You are making payments on your bills timely, but calendaring what is remaining in the checking account, you know it is a matter of time, when your “financial house of cards” will be tumbling down. This was the shaky financial state where my husband and I were in October 2006. This was very scary for us. We were the strong and stable ones of our families. We were the ones family came to for help, now we needed assistance and fast. This was the processional effect that resulted from when I got over confident upon receiving my real estate license and quit my well paid full time job in October of 2004. “I had high ethics and great customer service capabilities. I would be one of the better Realtors. I would be one that is successful. I never fail at anything I try to accomplish!
Ay, yay, yay!”

I thought I had found a good mentor in our Realtor, who was also an ex-worker of my engineer husband’s. Actually, she was really good at throwing me out to the wolves. She had me sign up my first buyer by myself, completing the contracts half informed, monitoring a home inspection with a blank notepad from start to finish and closing the deal, not knowing much more than I did at the beginning. My (learning) bell curve was a gong! The next two years was a big struggle!

By October 2006, my reality was, we did not know if there would be cookies and milk for Santa for Christmas. I was struggling not to be part of the California Department of Real Estate Statistic, of agents getting out of the Real Estate business within the first two years of being a licensee.

Hello, my name is Zenaida Roy-Almario, I am a mortgage loan consultant and Realtor, in San Diego, California. After I attend an Eric Lofholm seminar, whether it is free or I pay a registration fee, days and days later, I am a walking - talking bill board advertisement for his company and programs. I attended my first Eric Lofholm seminar, The Close, on December 4th, 2006. Only six months later, already I have amazing results to share!

The beginning of my connection with Eric and his programs was actually like the end for me, the “deep end”. My husband and I both work and made good money. He is an electrical engineer. I worked as a supervisor in the real estate mortgage department at a local credit union and trying to build a business for my self in the mortgage and real estate fields on a part time basis. A couple of weeks later, not quite sure how to pay for it, I upgraded to the “Platinum Protégé Program”. Even though, I did not have cash, I knew what the value of the program would bring.

One of Eric’s famous quotes is, “The universe rewards those who take action differently from those who do not”. Indeed, the universe rewarded! Upon registering for the Platinum Protégé Program, I was assigned to a wonderful personal coach, Kris Thompson! Kris not only listened to what I wanted, but most importantly, what I did not want, which was, to no longer work long hours at the credit union. Kris said make it a goal to quit by February, and here it was the middle of January! I told Kris, “great idea”, however, in my head I said, “What, are you crazy, my husband will kick me to the curb!”

Actually, Kris was not crazy at all. He knew what he was saying and encouraging was very possible. Kris connected me with a recruiter associate. She forwarded my resume to Mountain Trust Mortgage and Realty Services, a company with similar business model, philosophy and credit union background as myself. They signed me up as an agent. They said I was the best candidate interview ever! I had a business plan, marketing strategies and tactics and systems to put in place. These items were prepared because they were homework and exercises from my Platinum Protégé coaching program! My start at Mountain Trust Mortgage and Realty Services was a boost of immediate success (the universe rewards those who take action differently from those who do not). They provided me with office leads so that I was able to make money right away and obtain valuable training. I became the top loan officer my first month! One distinction that Eric teaches is, ”success is a team sport”. I am very glad that Eric and Kris are my team coaches!

The number distinction that Eric teaches is to “stay in the conversation”. Going to seminars is passing. Over time, the information you obtained, passes through your mind, and then it is gone. With Eric’s coaching programs, there is constant communication through emails, partner coaching calls, weekly training calls, monthly coaching calls, Pod cast of training calls, invitations to live events for future opportunities and recorded videos and CDs. The coaching program maintains the momentum and the effectiveness of the messages to keep you focus and on track in achieving your goals and dreams. I am still a work in process, however, I would not be where I am today, if I did not team up with Eric Lofholm International and his wonderful team. I am dropping you a line to let you know what I thought of this weekend's Monetized Now seminar. Over the years I have gone to many seminars. I know that I told you this to your face, but I want to say it again. This is one of the better ones I have ever been to. I attribute this to a couple of reasons.

First, the seminar was filled with very good information, presented in a useful manner, and was followed up with challenges and goals. The great thing about the challenges and goals was the fact that you and Eric are both willing to offer a useful reward to those that follow through. This offering a carrot for motivation probably ensure that many of us took this information home and put it to use. I know I did.

Which actually leads into my second reason for bragging about the seminar, I can actually implement this information immediately. Case in point; I've been home less than 48 hours and have made contact with three radio stations, sent out 150 e-mails to associates offering a free conference call to their investment groups (I have 150 more to send tomorrow), and, as of this moment, have verbal commitments for two conference calls. Even though I was going to begin this process on my own, this productivity as a direct result of your challenge and goal setting.

Next, what I really wanted to achieve with your seminar, I was able to do. As you know, I am trying to get my book in book stores and align myself with credibility as I get ready to launch my speaking business next year. Part of my strategic plan for credibility was to develop a back of the room study course. Before the Monetized Now seminar, I was not sure how to do that, or if it was even feasible with my book.

By day two of the seminar, I not only knew it was possible, but had pretty much laid it out on paper. As of this writing I have a recording studio lined up for next week and have already scripted out five to six of the CDs. I also know what I will put my workbook and have concepts for three additional CDs or informational products. My goal is by November 1 to have the complete study course ready for professional packaging and distribution. A lot of that credit comes close to you and Eric and this seminar.

As I close this letter, I want you to know that I have already recommended your Monetize Now seminar to three of my associates. This is a higher compliment that you realize since I do not hand these type of recommendations out easily.
